Installation Steps

To install Privacera, the following steps need to be followed

  1. Choose the installation options

    • Cloud Provider where Privacera will be installed - AWS, Azure, GCP or Cloud Native
    • Deployment Type - Docker Container or Kubernetes
    • Deployment Mode - PM UI or PM CLI
  2. Choose the databases and services you want to secure or scan

    • Services for Access Control: E.g. AWS S3, Databricks, Snowflake, Azure SQL, Google BigQuery, etc.
    • Services for Discovery: E.g. AWS S3, Azure ADSL, GCS, Snowflake, Azure SQL, Google BigQuery, etc.
    • Services for EncrypptionL E.g. Databricks, Apache Hive, Snowflake, etc.
  3. Get requirements from your Security team

    • SSL Management: E.g. CA, Corporate CA, Self Signed, etc.
    • Encryption: E.g. Encrypted PVs in Kubernetes, External Vault to be used, etc.
  4. Get advanced Requirements

    • CI/CD: E.g. Using Git, ArgoCD, GitOps, etc
    • Kubernetes: E.g. External Storage Class, Ingress Controllers, HA, etc.
  5. Perform Prerequisites

    • Operating environment: E.g. EC2, Virtual instances, Kubernetes Cluster, Load Balancers, etc.
    • Dependent Resources: E.g. External Databases, etc.
    • IAM policies: E.g. EC2 Instance Roles, Kubernetes NodeGroups, etc.
    • Firewalls: E.g. Ingress/Egress Ports, etc.
    • Security: E.g. SSL certificates, encryption keys, service user/passwords, Single Signon, etc,
  6. Install and Configure

    • Install Privacera Manager. PM UI or PM CLI
    • Create Privacera Manager Recipe. Based on Supported Services, Security and Advance Requirements, etc.
    • Deploy Privacera. Run pre check, deploy and validate
